New DNA profiling system seminar.
Posted 21st October 2015
We have been invited to attend this seminar with leading experts and top QC at Leading London Chambers.
The new European harmonised DNA profiling system, commonly known as DNA 17, promises to produce a greater number of ‘usable’ DNA profiled from samples submitted for DNA profiling. But will this evidence be more probative of guilt or does the increased sensitivity of the system create greater risks of false and misleading results from contamination and secondary transfer and could juries be misled by an inadequate presentation of the significance of mixed DNA samples that are more likely to occur?
This seminar assist in understanding the differences and alert us to the new ways in which DNA evidence will impact upon trials.
